Sometimes the blooms of Sarracenia are, strictly speaking, more spectacular than the pitchers themselves. Case in point; Sarracenia hybrid from Courting Frogs, via Dancing Oaks Nursery, a cross of (S. rubra X S. purpurea) x self. The petals have dropped since this photo, and I have pollinated it several times with S. x ‘Judith Hindle’, which I didn’t realize till recently also has S. purpurea in its pedigree. I wonder what that will bring?!
